At present, masks have become a must-have item for human hands. With the increase of new cases of  infection, the nationwide purchase of masks has become tense. At present, China's medical masks are mainly divided into three types: medical masks with the highest protection level, medical surgical masks commonly used in invasive operating environments such as operating rooms, and ordinary disposable medical masks.
Masks that can play a role in virus protection are mainly medical surgical masks and N95 masks. The main material that brings virus filtration to these two types of masks is a very fine and static inner filter cloth-meltblown non-woven fabric.



Medical surgical masks are generally made of three layers of non-woven fabric. The material is spunbond non-woven fabric + meltblown non-woven fabric + spunbond non-woven fabric. You can also use short fibers to improve the skin's touch, that is, ES hot-rolled nonwoven fabric + meltblown nonwoven fabric + spunbond nonwoven fabric. The outer layer of the mask has anti-fog design, the middle layer is filtered, and the memory absorbs moisture. Melt-blown cloth is generally selected to weigh 20 grams.
The N95 cup mask is made of needle-punched cotton, melt-blown cloth, and non-woven fabric. The melt-blown cloth usually uses 40 grams or more, plus the thickness of needle-punched cotton, so it looks more flat than flat. The mask is thicker and its protective effect can reach at least 95%.   

The main material of meltblown non-woven fabric is polypropylene, which is an ultra-fine electrostatic fiber cloth that can capture dust. When the droplets containing pneumonia virus approach the meltblown nonwoven fabric, they will be electrostatically adsorbed on the surface of the nonwoven fabric and cannot penetrate.
But electrostatic adsorption masks have a huge disadvantage. After static electricity is added, it is not always in a saturated state. In the production, packaging, delivery, transportation of masks, and then in the hands of consumers, open it for use. Each step will gradually reduce the static content in the non-woven fabric layer. The attenuation will inevitably lead to a reduction in the protective effectiveness of meltblown non-woven masks.
As the wearing time increases (for example, 1 to 2 hours), the mask becomes wet due to human activities such as breathing of the wearer, and its electrostatic adsorption capacity is weakened, and the isolation effect gradually deteriorates. Given the tiny size of the virus, ordinary medical surgical masks cannot achieve long-term effective isolation and protection. To this end, masks made of PTFE nano-films have appeared on the market.
Recently, the Chinese Society for Composite Materials published an article proposing a new direction for the development of epidemic protection-nano-masks. Nano masks have become an efficient medical protective mask due to its highly efficient filtering performance.

Similar to ordinary medical masks, nano antibacterial masks also consist of outer layer, middle layer, inner layer, ear hook, nose clip and other parts. Nano masks made from this material have the characteristics of high barrier efficiency, long service life, light and breathable, and it is a new direction for the development of masks in the future.

Especially Teflon clothing film, its biggest feature is that it is breathable and impermeable. The surface of the film can reach 1.4 billion micropores per square centimeter, and each micropore has a diameter of 0.5-1.5 microns. Using this structure can achieve waterproof The function of moisture permeability. After the clothing film is compounded with the basic fabric, it can be widely used in medical clothing, special protective clothing such as disinfection and anti-virus.
Reusable protective clothing is generally used as daily work clothes and surgical clothes for medical staff. It is mainly made of traditional woven fabrics, high-density fabrics, coated fabrics and laminated fabrics. Laminated fabrics are made by laminating a common fabric with a special film through a lamination process. Therefore, it has become the mainstream choice in the industry due to better protection and moisture and vapor permeability.

Teflon super waterproof and moisture permeable composite fabric belongs to a relatively high-end laminated fabric. The fabric is made of polytetrafluoroethylene as a raw material. After extruding and stretching, a microporous film is formed. This film is laminated on various fabrics and substrates with a special process to become a new type of filter material. Because the membrane has a small pore size, uniform distribution, and large porosity, it can filter dust particles including bacteria while maintaining air circulation to achieve the purpose of purification and ventilation. This laminated fabric is windproof, waterproof, breathable, moisture permeable, and extremely comfortable. At present, most developed countries use PTFE. The medical multi-functional protective clothing developed by using polytetrafluoroethylene composite film as the insulation layer has durable physical and mechanical properties such as waterproof, water repellent, antibacterial, antistatic, flame retardant, moisture permeability, etc. Body weight) has good barrier performance under natural and stress conditions, and the barrier (filtration) efficiency is greater than 99%.
